Mask titled “Zuccherino” (Italian for ‘Sugarplum’) due to its flamboyant pink and gold colour palette, has been given a base covering of a rather luscious pink-on-pink silk brocade which has been highlighted with heavily ornamented gold braiding.
The centrepiece was created from three deconstructed vintage brooches, pale pink beading and the insertion of a large pink glass rhinestone as the central feature. A plethora of miniature pink, silver and AB rhinestones together with tiny gold and pink beading was used to add sparkle on and around the braiding and the subtle 3D flower effect above each eye was achieved through the use of deconstructed wire jewellery. Tiny pink polymer clay rosebuds provide additional visual points.
A golden tiara in a floral design and featuring filigree gold lace and multi-faceted ‘dragons eye’ pink rhinestones, rises above and behind the centrepiece and a row of deconstructed gold braiding, heavily adorned with pink and AB rhinestones and pink and gold beading, has been added to the bottom edging.
The reverse side of “Zuccherino” has been finished to reflect the more ornate front decoration. A bright, colourful and VERY sparkly piece, “Zuccherino” has been designed as the Artisan's interpretation of a deliciously luscious pink Sugarplum.
‘Zuccherino’ is a one-off, exclusively catalogued creation that comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
